According to a new report from the Wrestling Observer, two WWE veterans and longtime Vince McMahon allies, Bruce Prichard and Michael Hayes, are currently on leave. However, sources close to the matter tell Dave Meltzer that the absences are unrelated—both to each other and to McMahon’s ongoing controversies.

Prichard’s leave is reportedly due to a family emergency, while Hayes is dealing with personal issues. WWE insiders have emphasized that this situation isn’t a “changing of the guard,” with no set return dates yet but an expectation that both will be back in due time.

At 61, Prichard has been part of WWE’s world on and off since 1987, returning most recently in 2018. When Endeavor/TKO took over WWE amid high-profile scandals—including Janel Grant’s lawsuit involving sex trafficking allegations against McMahon and others—rumors flew about possible dismissals, especially after Ronda Rousey famously dubbed Prichard “Vince’s avatar.” However, there’s been no indication his position is at risk following McMahon’s resignation in January.

Michael Hayes, 65, began with WWE in 1995 as an interviewer and manager before transitioning behind the scenes as a producer in 1999. Recently, he’s been pivotal in crafting the acclaimed Bloodline storyline. His absence from producing the high-profile opening match at Crown Jewel raised eyebrows, but WWE sources maintain that there’s no cause for concern about Hayes’ future with the company.
